Time for New Beginnings, Renewal and Growth

Time for New Beginnings Renewal and Growth

Hello you. And hello April.

It’s truly starting to feel like Spring. And Spring, of course, means it’s the time of year for new beginnings, renewal and growth. If this time of year helps you start anew in some way, I hope it supports you in the best ways. It’s like the universe’s New Year. Let’s embrace this season of change with balance, open arms and fresh intentions.

Journal prompts for inspiration and clarity

Are you looking for ways to spark creativity or gain deeper insights? These prompts are a great starting point:

  • What does renewal mean to you in this season of growth?
  • Reflect on a change you’ve embraced recently and how it has shaped you.
  • What intentions or goals are you ready to nurture this Spring?

Jot them down and see where your thoughts lead you.

Menopause Matters – essential knowledge for all

I’ve been diving into perimenopause and menopause awareness and talking to many clients about signs and symptoms – it’s a topic that impacts not just women but everyone around them.

Menopause can bring about various physical and emotional symptoms, some of which might surprise you…

  • Unusual symptoms can include: electric shock sensations, gum issues, changes in taste or smell, and even skin alterations like dryness or itching.
  • And more common symptoms include: Hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and memory issues often described as “brain fog.”

Everyone is different but you can help improve how you feel. Here are some things you may want to try to help you manage the symptoms:

  • Healthy diet: focus on nutrient-rich foods to support hormonal balance and overall health. Calcium and vitamin D can help reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Try to avoid processed food, eat more protein, and watch your sugar intake.
  • Exercise: gentle movements like yoga or walking can improve mood, energy levels, and bone health.
  • Stress management: techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or muscle relaxation exercises (like the one mentioned below) are excellent for reducing stress. Learn what helps you relax and unwind and do it regularly.
  • Hydration: drink plenty of water to combat dryness and maintain overall well-being. Alcohol can make symptoms worse.
Track your symptoms: a menopause tracker can help you identify patterns and discuss them with your healthcare provider.
  • Community support: sharing experiences with others going through similar challenges can be incredibly validating and helpful.

Menopause awareness is essential for everyone – it fosters understanding, empathy, and support. For those interested in learning more, I highly recommend Lisa Snowdon’s book, which offers empowering insights and practical advice.

Relax and recharge – progressive muscle relaxation

Stress has a sneaky way of lodging itself in our bodies, leading to physical tension. A muscle relaxation meditation can work wonders in releasing that tension (adding holes to your bucket), boosting your stress tolerance, and preventing it from building up further.

Here’s how you can try it:

  1. Find a quiet space and sit or lie down comfortably.
  2. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.
  3. Focus on each muscle group, starting from your toes and working upward, gently tensing your muscles for around 10 seconds or so and then releasing the muscles.
  4. Let the stress melt away as you go.

Take a few minutes daily for this practice – it’s a simple yet powerful way to care for your body and mind.

Quarter year check in – where are you now?

Can you believe we’re now a quarter into 2025? It’s a great time to reflect on your goals and progress:

Are your daily, weekly, and monthly intentions on track?

Have you achieved your milestones, or do you need to make adjustments?

Remember, growth isn’t about perfection – it’s about consistent small steps forward. And remember to celebrate your wins, no matter how small they seem!

Looking ahead with renewal

This season invites us to refresh, recalibrate, and reconnect with ourselves. Let’s embrace these longer, brighter days and the opportunities they bring.

Wishing you clarity, joy, and balance this month!

If you’d like to learn more about any of the topics, or work with me to create a life you love waking up to, I’d love to hear from you.

With love from
